The Bill Graham poster series began in 1966 with The Jefferson Airplane's February 4-6 shows at the Fillmore Auditorium. In July of 1968 Graham moved out of the original Fillmore and took over the Carousel Ballroom, renaming it the Fillmore West. Many of his largest shows were held 2 blocks from the original Fillmore at Winterland a former ice skating rink. The series ended with poster #289 advertising The Rolling Stones' 1972 Winterland shows.
