CIA vs. UFO Poster

This poster was designed for a July 23.1967 appearance of Pink Floyd. The idea of CIA vs. UFO came to Michael and Nigel as representing the conflict between the repressive forces of the establishment and the new counterculture. The winged female and the rocky island she is pulling through space represents a type of UFO or fantasy island, from which various flying machines are emerging. They were particularly impressed at the time by the assertion of famous architect and visionary Buckminster Fuller that we should view our Planet Earth as a space craft.
